I Will Find You (Netflix): A Binge-Worthy Thriller That Had Me Watching “Just One More Episode”

Netflix has a new thriller this month, and if you’re a fan of mystery, suspense, and the kind of plot twists that make you immediately start the next episode, I Will Find You deserves a spot on your watchlist.

Based on the novel by Harlan Coben, the series stars Sam Worthington as David Burroughs, a man serving a life sentence for the murder of his young son, Matthew. The problem? David knows he didn’t do it.

While in prison, he has cut himself off from nearly everyone around him. Then one unexpected visit changes everything.

His sister-in-law, Rachel Mills (played by Britt Lower), shows him a photograph taken at an amusement park. In the background is a boy who looks remarkably like Matthew. More importantly, the child has the same distinctive birthmark.

Suddenly, the impossible seems possible.

Convinced that his son is alive, David escapes from prison and begins a desperate search to find him. What follows is a fast-moving chase filled with secrets, betrayals, hidden connections, and enough twists to keep the story moving through all eight episodes.

The plot is classic Harlan Coben. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s happening, another piece of information sends the story in a different direction.

As for the performances, Sam Worthington carries much of the series. His portrayal of David is effective, though admittedly somewhat restrained. He spends most of the show operating in a fairly narrow emotional range, which occasionally makes the character feel a bit flat.

Britt Lower is solid as Rachel, although I found myself rewinding a few scenes because of her soft, mumbly delivery. Whether that’s a performance choice or simply the sound mix, there were moments when I wished the dialogue were a little clearer.

Still, neither issue was enough to pull me out of the story.

Because here’s the thing: the plot works.

The mystery is compelling, the pacing is strong, and every episode ends with the kind of reveal that makes it nearly impossible to stop watching.

My Verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

Not perfect, but highly bingeable.

If you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you guessing while repeatedly convincing yourself that one more episode is a perfectly reasonable decision at midnight, I Will Find You delivers.

Final Thought:
I Will Find You isn’t the strongest thriller adaptation I’ve ever watched, but it’s exactly the kind of series Netflix does well: fast-paced, twisty, addictive, and surprisingly difficult to turn off. If you’re a Harlan Coben fan—or simply enjoy a mystery that keeps moving—this one is worth the binge.
